Abalone (Pāua shell) Pens

These pens are absolutely stunning.  These are all made from Abalone (Pāua shell) from New Zealand.  The process to complete these pens is quite involved and takes several hours from start to finish.   

Firstly, the shells are hand placed onto the base tubes and then degassed prior to casting in epoxy resin under pressure to achieve a solid base ready for turning.  Once turned to size it is then polished to a high gloss finish before being assembled using quality pen components.
